I was in a nightclub with my friend. I am adjusting to new anxiety meds and had one or two drinks. I just felt overwhelmed, panicky, and my belly hurt. I've had problems with alcohol in the past and just didn't want to be there. So I just made excuses, ran out and left him there. I just followed my instincts to run.
I feel this is a very bad thing to do and I want to know how I can make it up to my friendHow can I make this up to my friend?
Go somewhere else, other than a club. Mixing alcohol with anxiety drugs is not a good idea. Especially if you have had alcohol problems in the past. Just avoid it.
If you are close friends they will understand. You will find you can have just as good a time not drinking if being together doing things is the idea. How can I make this up to my friend?
What happened was not your fault.
Try taking him out to a nightclub again when you are feeling more up to it.
I think you should just merely talk to your friend about this. Say something like, 'I didn't leave cause of you- I love hanging out with you. I left cause of my anxiety and drinking probs.' If your friend is still mad and doesn't understand, give them a second chance and maybe they'll come around. But for all you know, they might not even be angry with you. Just try talking to them best you can.
