Should I even bother trying to make up with my friend?

There's this girl who I have been good friends with for about a year, maybe a little over. This year, the two of have changed in our own ways, but i've noticed it more with her. She even says herself that she has always been ';on the brink of popularity'; and I haven't since I started Middle School. She and I have a lot in common and I always enjoyed being around her. The thing that has really changed this year were her friends. I am a real loner and she kind of was last year, and she was that kind of best friend that you didn't need any other friends when you were with them. This year, she got new friends, and in my opinion, has been acting kind of fake. Her friends are like trashy sluts or the girls who pretend to be friends with everyone and are just...i don't know. Freaking obnoxious is the only word I can think of. I send her a message telling her how I felt about her friends and that I wasn't sure if we should be friends and she shot back telling me all like how she can't be friends with me when i have ';such a disdain for her friends'; and I don't know.We haven't talked since then, and that was over a week ago. Probably closer to two or three. I was near getting over it, and then she answered my question about Sims on here being all nice and crap. As soon as I get over being friends with her she goes and does something like that. I'm debating ';apologizing'; (even though I don't feel I have anything to apologize for) and I'm not sure if i should. My mom has taken my side (i mean i know, she's my mom) and doesn't think I should have to apologize, PLUS she's going to another school next year and I won;t see her and she'll be back with her best friend who I kind of loathe with a passion

Well, I think you should sit her down and talk to her face-to-face. Tell her how you are really feeling. If she still doesn't listen to you and continues to be a jerk, just don't even bother to make up with her. She has changed into a whole new person and you can't do anything about it. Life moves on, and so should you.

I really hate people who are like that. At first they show their good side. And you think of them as you're going to be friends forever. And in the end they will try to break your heart. I'm also in that situation sometimes. I just try to ignore my friend's friends.
