How to make up with my friend, boys please!?

help from the boys please, girls will be fine though!

I have this friend who is a boy, we are in our late teens and have been friends for years. He told me a secret and i told my Mum by accident, she then told him that I told her.

Now he's acting strange, he won't forgive me though I've said sorry hundreds of times. He's not the kind of kid who'd stop talking to me but he is avoiding my company though he is texing. However at the end of his texs he reminds me that he hasn't forgiven me or calls me ';tattle-tail'; or something. I don't know what i can do to make up, there's only so many times I can say sorry.I know I shouldn't have told his secret but is that such an important thing for boys or what? If I talk to him face to face, and I've only had two opportunities so far, he just tries to get out there as fast as possible so I haven't made much headway. We haven't even had a real argument, just he's acting so weird and won't forgive me.

What do I do? What can I do to be friends again?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm a girl, that may make a difference with the way he's acting than say if I had been another boy but we are most diffidently not boyfriend/girlfriend!How to make up with my friend, boys please!?
It might help if we knew what the secret was and why he wanted to keep it secret, but trusted you with it. And how severely it would upset or embarass him.

I think he really likes you and wants to make up, (judging by him calling you tattle-tail, he wants to make you feel bad) but he feels uncomfortable, perhaps deeply upset that you broke his trust and feels like he can't trust you?. Maybe it will just take time for him to get over it. You could try emphasising that it was an accident, or perhaps a gesture to show him that your sorry/ that he means alot to you. Perhaps just try telling him how you feel and that you're really sorry and don't want it to ruin your friendship?

You are sure that he doesn't like you more than just friends, right? That can account for unusual behaviour.

Tell him that you didn't do it on purpose. Do something that can show your sincerity.
